Power Ranges

13 September 2023

Power Ranges emerged not from a fixed idea, but from the joy of creative play, an experiment that grew into something unexpectedly captivating. What began as digital doodling with code evolved into a study of form and movement through the use of height maps and value ranges.

The project started with my first implementation of the marching squares algorithm, which I used to generate and explore contours within mixed noise fields and custom shapes. From there, I built a parser to translate these maps into isolines, rendered through my Superline script. Power Ranges stands as an homage to curiosity itself: the beauty that arises when art is guided not by intention, but by exploration.
